Update 11/26/10

Last week I received fender flares, a shift knob and adjusted the valves. I'll put some updated pictures up to show the improvements. Next critical thing is to get some negative camber in the front and rear, as my front tires are getting chewed up on the front outside edges. First I get the wood stove in the garage hooked up...

Update 11/10

Received the spring compression tool and got one of the springs in place. The old rubber cones, which were probably original, were totally collapsed. I'll get a picture up of the difference in ride height between both sides. Hope to get the rest of the springs in this weekend and order new shocks next week.

I bled the brakes today so now the mini will actually stop. Suspension comes apart tomorrow for new springs.

Friday, November 5, 2010

As of wednesday, the mini is registered and titled and officially street legal. I need to work on the brakes as they don't really work and the new springs and bump stops go in tomorrow. Can't wait. I'll post some pictures of before, during and after the process.

Mini gets new windshield today. A driver side mirror, front bump stops and a coil spring conversion kit (to get rid of the collapsed rubber cones) will be here tuesday next week. Hoping to have the car registered next wednesday.

Update 10/25

Just ordered a coil spring kit to replace the rubber cones in the front and back. Also ordered two new bumpstops, a manual and a bullet-style mirror. New windshield arrives tomorrow. It'll be an early christmas next week!

Mini Update 10-24

Yesterday I changed the spark plugs and emptied the old gas out of the tank. After getting that all done, the car runs great. I also got my tires yesterday and put them on. Even with clapped out suspension, this car handles great! Pictures below and a video to come...  And no the car isn't registered yet, it just has a plate to make it look more legal
