Wednesday

Finally got a tank of shielding gas to start mig. I leased an 80 cu ft tank for a year and I just pay for refills. Here's the result...

Cut holes in passenger panel for radio

Covered driver's panel in vinyl. Passenger panel still needs to be done

 Passenger floor is almost done

I'm starting to get the hang of it, but it's going to take some practice. I'll probably be back at it tomorrow...

Weekend Progress

I need shielding gas so I can get welding.
 Passenger scuttle cut to fit
Driver scuttle cut to fit
 New door sill I fabricated
New floor pan section I fabricated
Anchored gauge assembly in the middle and cut a filler piece for the right side. I'm going to cover both filler panels in black textured vinyl

Bracket to hold flitch panel in place
Cleaned this panel and around the windshield frame
Radiator, upper and lower hoses, and t-stat and housing removed. I'm going to replace all coolant hoses, the water pump, t-stat, cap, belt and fan blade
Front of mini. I also removed the lip from the side panels that was left from the fenders

Monday & Tuesday's Progress

Got more rust cut out of the car and fabbed a sheet metal pieces for the rear...

 Lovely

Cut out more of door sill
Rear quarter was blistering here, also found rust lurking inside

 Removed instrument cluster
Put spacers on the steering column bracket to lower the column.
 Greased the bushing

New center section I made to be welded in

Right side boot floor panel I made

Two together. I'll probably need to trim the outer edge back a bit but I wanted to leave plenty of length

New panel I made for right rear
This is what I made for the other side. I might try to salvage this one as it isn't as bad as it looks. We'll see...

I probably won't really get to work on the car much today or tomorrow, but I'm not on call this weekend so I should make some good progress. I'm going to set up the welder this weekend for mig using co2 for now...

Progress Friday to Sunday

Not much on the car. Today and friday I had a few calls to run, and saturday I spent most of the day running and hooking up the electric.

 Windshield out
 Side windows out
 Rear window out
Showing new tie bar, braided brake line and shock absorber
 New master cylinder
I put in three new outlets with a new wire from the panel box for the air compressor and the welder

 Welder and accessories
 Rear valence cut out
New rear valence to go in
 One of the dividers up

Cut out most of the rust on the passenger side in the floor pan. Still a little more to go...

I also tried welding for the first time today. Right now the welder is set up for flux cored welding, which I did decently with on the 16 gauge metal. Couldn't get the lighter 22 gauge to weld up though; just had lots of holes. I'm gonna set the welder up this weekend for mig once I get a bottle of gas.

I have the day off tomorrow so I plan to get more rust cut out and ready to weld...
